Cambria Historical Society provides visibility, networking, and opportunities to market to a dedicated, community-focused audience while supporting Cambria's history and maintaining the vitality of our village. In addition, many tourists visit museums and historical sites. These travelers tend to take longer trips and spend more money, boosting the economy and creating jobs.

 There's a lot going on at the Cambria Historical Museum because history happens here every day. And what we do is all about you: Tours, Reunions, Classes, Research, School visits, And so much more!

The Nonprofit Cambria Historical Society
 of dedicated volunteers has served the community well for many years. We are proud of our many accomplishments and we look forward to continue serving local businesses and residents in the future.

our successes include:


  • Purchase and extensive restoration of the Guthrie-Bianchini House.
  • Creation of the Cambria Historical Museum for the enjoyment and enlightenment of locals and visitors.
  • Opening of the museum grounds as a public park in the heart of downtown.
  • Acquisition of the Maggetti House and its opening as the Nancy Moure Research Center.
  • Acquisition, moving, and restoration of the 1881 Santa Rosa Schoolhouse.
  • Originator of the Scarecrow/Harvest Festival and other activities that draw people downtown.
  • Acquisition, moving, and restoration of the Old Cambria Jail to its original location at Bridge Street Historical Park.
  • Promotion of Cambria as a unique village full of fascinating history
  • Cambria Chamber of Commerce members in good standing for 20 years

your membership helps support the following activities

  • General Operations, such as repair and maintenance of the museum and other properties.
  • Collecting, preserving, cataloging, researching, interpreting, and exhibiting tangible and intangible heritage for public education, inspiration and enjoyment. 
  • Staging Community Service Events; Such as visits by children and senior citizen groups, book signings, memorial services, and much more. 
  • Developing educational programs for local school children. 
  • Maintaining the Heirloom Gardens at the Museum.
  • The 1881 School House renovations and operation. 
  • Walking tours of historic East and West Villages.
  • Annual Participation in the Harvest Festival, Heritage Day, Hospitality Night and other community wide programs.
  • The Speakers Series - Educational and Entertaining speakers knowledgeable in Cambria's colorful history.

The Cambria Historical Museum is a heritage destination. Our museum and docents are ambassadors for our community and exhibits entertain and educate with stories and photos that distinguish Cambria from anywhere else in the USA.
